Happy New (Training) Year!

January 6, 2015 1:03 pm

This may seem controversial, but I really like January. I find it’s great time to plan for the year ahead and reflect on what has happened in the last 12 months.

One of the tasks I do is to look at my professional goals. I look at where I want to be in the next 12 months and consider what areas of my professional knowledge need updating to get me there.

As a solicitor I must complete at least 16 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) every year. I try to use my CPD as effectively as possible.

If you are regulated by the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), you must also complete CPD. It is now a requirement of your registration with the HCPC.

I look at training courses to see what new skills & knowledge I  could be gaining. Good quality training is an investment.  It’s an investment in your career and your personal development.

By taking a look at what training you have done in the last year you can see if it has helped you in your job. If it hasn’t then you need to look again at the training courses you are attending.

By attending the right training courses, and gaining the right skills you can help your professional development and your career enormously.

Take a look at the upcoming courses on offer here and give your career a well earned boost.
